In response to the rumor, Mayweather posted a graphic on Instagram to refute claims that he lost millions Super Sunday: Congratulations Seattle Seahawks for winning the Super Bowl! For the record, I did NOT bet $10 million on the Broncos. As a matter of fact, I didn't bet at all. I can't control what rumors that are put out there. Sportsbooks in Nevada took a record total of $138.48 million in bets during Super Bowl LI in 2017, but that's just a paltry fraction of the total money wagered. Mayweather attempted to place a $400,000 bet on the fight ending under 9.5 rounds at -200 odds, but according to a source, there were concerns over the legality of a fighter betting on anything. Bruce Arians will win his 1st Super Bowl as HC. In the big picture, the NFL will have better exposure if Brady wins. I don't care what anyone says KC is not winning today. 🔒 SportsLine Pick of the Day: Larry Hartstein, who is 22-12-2 in his last 36 against-the-spread NFL picks, has studied the Super Bowl LV MVP odds and has released his pick to win the award.
Talk about betting the whole house on one side in Super Bowl LV. More like wagering enough to furnish many houses when it came to this bet.
Houston furniture mogul Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale made a trip to Colorado Springs on Wednesday to place a legal wager on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
McIngvale ponied up $3.46M on Tampa Bay getting 3.5 points to win Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fl.
After paying a little extra (-127) to get the Bucs at +3.5, McIngvale would win $2.72 million if Tampa Bay covers the spread.
'Tampa Bay is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and led by the greatest football player of all time in Tom Brady, so I'm betting big on the Bucs who have overcome tough matchups throughout this postseason,' McIngvale said in a release from DraftKings.
Before anyone thinks McIngvale has inside information on Tom Brady's team, realize he makes these bets many times because to hedge against promotions his furniture chain runs.
This year, customers at McIngvale's store who spend $3,000 or more on a new mattress will get their money back if the Buccaneers win.
Mattress Mack hasn't stopped making huge bets on some of the biggest stages in sports despite losing some of them. He bet against the Chiefs during last year's Super Bowl run. He bet against them during the Divisional Round of the playoffs when playing against the Houston Texans and again during Super Bowl LIV when they played against the San Francisco 49ers. Overall, he's 0-3 with his large NFL Playoff pick.
This bet topped the wager with BetMGM of $2.3 million on Tampa Bay last week placed last week in Nevada.
'Mack has been a great customer and is someone we have history with after taking his sizeable wager on the World Series a couple seasons ago,' Johnny Avello, DraftKings' sportsbook director, said in the release.

Mayweather hung up the gloves in 2017 after beating former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
He did return a year later for a one round demolition job against featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan.
Now, the 50-0 legend stated he could fight once more, but ruled out returning to challenge the best boxing has to offer.
Instead, Mayweather is ‘absolutely' willing to get in the ring for another exhibition bout or against an MMA fighter.
'As of right now, I'm doing exhibitions. I'm 100 per cent sure that I'm not fighting against any boxer anymore,' he told CNN.
